There is definitely a cooler breeze in the air and I am getting all excited for trans-seasonal dressing. Cue all the knits, all the jackets – but keep those legs bare…as long as possible.

It means I can still wear my favourite dresses, but I can now incorporate light layers and start buying new winter items! I love the change of seasons – no matter what one we are heading into. It means I can experiment with clothing and try new things I didn’t try last year.

This outfit is perfect for those days where the afternoon and evenings are a little too fresh for just a dress. I love combining different fabrics – in this case lace and wool juxtapose each other perfectly. Combining textures like this is also a great way to make a lace dress appear less feminine.

This little black lace dress is one of my most versatile pieces I own at the moment – when I’m not wearing it like this, I pair it with stilettos, a clutch and a high pony tail for events or an evening out with JD.
