You may have guessed from the influx of travel images on my Instagram feed that I am on holidays! Hello from the USA!

I’m ain’t sorry. I’m ain’t sorry

We touched down in LA, travelled the West Coast all the way to San Fran and now have been Vegas the past couple of days – it’s been such an incredible adventure so far. This trip is the longest I have ever traveled overseas. We’ve only ever gone for a week or two at a time. As hard as it was, I kept myself from over-packing as much as I usually do. *cries out of frustration*

With makeup I find it so hard to cull my products, as I love to play things by ear and see how I feel on the day. I’ve been pretty proud of myself though as I have been sticking to the same group of products everyday and it’s been totally fine! I basically packed products that I can use easily and are efficient, as I am pretty limited with the time I can get ready. I don’t want to hold my friends up!!

FACE

I have been beginning my day with a moisturiser I picked up from Walmart as I forgot to pack one! It’s just by Simple skincare, but I actually really like how light it is. I then have been using NARS primer and a MAC eye primer and a MAC foundation. It is such a great base and it has SPF 30 in it, which I definitely need with all the walking I have been doing on this trip + #sweatymess. Next up, I have been applying a thin layer of a drugstore concealer  (Maybelline) under my eyes and down the centre of my nose. I really like this for traveling or any day really, as it’s super light, but also has great coverage.

I have also been using this spray SPF+ by Mecca as it was small enough to pack in my luggage.

EYES

Eyeshadows take up the most room and I was debating to bring both a palette and cream shadows, but I figured I would end up packing too much, so I settled with this trusty number from MAC. It allows me to have a polished day time look as well as a defined night time look.

I have skipped tight-lining my upper lashes and instead just been applying two coats of the MAC mascara to make me look like I have actually slept. I kind of wish I packed two though This mascara doesn’t budge – my pet hate when being hot and sweaty is mascara coming off just under my brows!!

On my brows I have used Charlotte Tilbury Cara D gel and also Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. They’re so good for when you don’t have heaps of time to spend on your brows, but you want them to look amazing.

CHEEKS

I couldn’t go anywhere without highlighter. I put a generous amount of this Smashbox highlighter on my cheekbones, temples and tip of my nose. This is also great on the inner corner of your eyes too. On days that I have been wearing blush, I have just used this one from MAC and some Bronzer by Benefit

LIPS

I reallllly couldn’t decide what lip products to take and I mean they’re tiny so my theory is it didn’t matter that I packed more than I probably should’ve. I just couldn’t part with these little guys.

  • Lanolips balm
  • MAC Velvet Teddy and Whirl lip pencil
  • MAC BBQ

What products are you a fan of when you’re on holidays? What can’t you live without?

  1. It depends where I am (if I’m going somewhere hot and humid, I won’t bring foundation at all, just concealer), but I really like multitasking products. I’ll usually pack a matte bronzer (which will end up being used as eyeshadow too), a highlighter, and lipstick (which I’ll use as a cream blush). Then mascara and a pencil eyeliner or dark brown shadow. I try and pack everything into a small pouch – if it doesn’t fit, then I need to downsize!

    1. I love a bronzer that doubles as a shadow!! Such a great idea! I know – I am the same with things that don’t fit #ruthless!

  2. What was the weather like over in New York and the West Coast!? I’m heading there in a week and am struggling with what to pack (clothes/shoes/too much haha).

    1. It was so difficult to pack! I did a mix really. Though, I noticed NY is a lot colder than when we were there now! It snowed last week!! So devastated I didn’t get to experience that!

      -Two Jeans
      -7 Tops
      -Three Jackets
      – 2 Dressy outfits
-Woolen Jumper and Crew neck fleece
-Boots, sneakers x 2 and flats

I could have taken way more, but I wanted to keep it light because we were flying so much!
