Bali was never on the top of my must see countries as it seemed like one of the most touristy islands on earth…but I was pleasantly surprised.

While the age old saying of “the destination doesn’t matter as much as the journey itself’, is so cliche, it reigns true and in a way road trips are a metaphor for life: They’re extraordinary expeditions that don’t always have a clear beginning or ending.
Your lifestyle on holidays may be worlds away from your ordinary life, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still have a loose routine or a loose guide for while you’re away.

It was hard not to feel at home when we visited NYC.
If I’ve learned anything over the past few months is that it’s incredibly important to maintain a routine while you travel. Initially the struggle on my end is entirely mental. The mental adjustment to living a lifestyle that doesn’t reflect how you generally live the carefully curated lifestyle you’ve set for yourself.
Sometimes you just need to take a step back and reassess and make time for adventure, however big or small.
I love road-trips because they allow you to see the country at a slow pace and create your own journey. I have put together some of our tips when it comes to road trips and they’re especially good if you’re on a budget!
Because sometimes you just have to get away from the city and take it back to basics.
