I had the pleasure of attending the Vogue Australia A/W International Designer show presented by David Jones event last Friday night.
It was a fun night filled with incredible luxury fashion. 59 outfits were sent down the runway and each one was styled perfectly. I kept noticing how incredible the shoes were, but you know me, I am well and truly a shoe fiend.
It was hard to narrow the looks down to my top ten, but here they are!
Victoria Beckham embellished black dress, Dolce & Gabbana silver bag, 3.1 Phillip Lim metallic shoes
When this V.B dress stepped out my jaw dropped – I’m like a magpie when it comes to embellished detailing. Again the accessories have won me over. I need these 3.1 Phillip Lim shoes in my life – It’s a matter of necessity!
3.1 PHILLIP LIM
3.1 Phillip Lim knit jumper, navy short, bag and metallic heel
It isn’t quite warm enough to get away with bare legs without an over-sized knit yet – especially with this on-set of lackluster weather in Sydney. This look is the perfect transeasonal outfit. Navy and white are always a fresh combination
3.1 Phillip Lim wool dress, jodhpur pant and Lanvin penny loafer
Dress over jodhpur isn’t a new concept, but it’s the first time I have seen it and thought “I could wear this”. The knee length drop-hem against the black jodhpurs make this look work seamlessly and the loafers relax the look to make it even more wearable.
Helmut Lang black leather jacket, red leather skirt, grey print top, Alexander McQueen black bag and heels
I don’t tend to wear a lot of colour but this leather on leather look had me lusting after this bright red skirt! I really love this look – it would be perfect to wear to meetings or a night out! I just might have to recreate this look, heels included!
Erdem emerald green dress, Saint Laurent pink glitter flats, Fendi sunglasses
This outfit is so timeless – emerald green has been a colour I have been experimenting with lately and I love the contrast of the leather collar.
DOLCE & GABBANA
Dolce & Gabbana brocade dress, 3.1 Phillip Lim metallic heel
You can’t really go wrong with a classic brocade dress, really, especially when it’s Dolce & Gabbana.
Alexander McQueen white shirt dress, Céline bag, Céline pointed loafers.
The white shirt dress is such a classic piece. I can see this fitting into my wardrobe for an everyday look. The Céline loafers add a touch more masculinity to the look, which I really love. I love tomboy styling as it is so easy to wear.
Mary Katrantzou metallic floral dress, Chloe gold pearl cuff, Saint Laurent gold glitter heels
This look is a little bit different for me, so I am surprised it caught my eye. Maybe metallic pieces have finally won me over. I’m not sure what it is about this Mary Katrantzou dress, but I think it is a piece of art. Paired back with simple accessories is key when wearing such a statement piece like this!
Valentino leather collared knit, studded skirt & black rockstud heel
I love this take on a feminine style. It is a great way to add a masculine touch to what once was a traditional look. There is no such thing as too many studs in my books. The Valentino rockstud heels are so timeless, despite their embellishments.
IRO black leather biker jacket, printed t-shirt & jeans, Saint Laurent lace-up booties
Again, this is so wearable. I would wear jeans and leather every day if I could! The shoes and jacket are a definite stand out for me and could potentially do a lot of damage to my bank account – if only my wedding wasn’t a month away!
I wore a Shakuhachi dress and Siren heels on the night! See more on my Instagram: @substance_blog
