Last week I attended Virgin Australia Fashion Festival (VAMFF) at Melbourne’s Royal Exhibition building. It was my first time attending the renowned event and I must say VAMFF did not disappoint; the week played host to some of the best local, Australian talent. Some up and comers and of course our favourites.

What VAMFF reignited for me, was the realisation that we have some incredible designers that continue to go from strength to strength on a global scale. From Nice Martin to Keepsake, to Acler and Albus Lumen, to Anna Quan and Bec & Bridge – I loved seeing everything we will be wearing in the coming weeks. It was so refreshing to see outfits styled back in ways we may not have thought of.

I loved that every show is open to the public and almost everything on the runway can be bought immediately. To me, who is also a consumer, I hate having to wait a season for fashion or pre-order, so to be able to buy straight away was incredible.

  1. really pretty! I wish I could get to more events in Melbourne, but unfortunately I can’t because I have a spinal and neurological disorder that’s kind of serious, I’ve been calling St Vincent’s Hospital my second home for way too long! I’ve actually had a very awful week. Thank you for your inspirational writing and photos!

      1. Thank you! I didn’t see this until now x Thanks for your kindness, Things for me are always a challenge, If I am able to I am working towards publishing a book, and generally taking my story to the media, I need tbe stronger before I’m able to though. Have you seen the movie Berlin Syndrome? Well, that’s exactly what happened to me, A guy stalked me, then held me captive a couple of years, he tortured me, and ultimately put me in a coma, in a clinical death in London Hospital. I was over in London working on a 2yr visa, and my destiny was to meet a guy who took my life away for. me. I have spent years relearning ti talk, walk, breathe. I am starting to remember a lot from that time, I have begun to remember people (witnesses), . It’s a story that I have been keeping to myself, because it’s a very antisocial experience, and really has competely isolated me from., My life is Hospital and physio, and a bunch of specialists that work at keeping me on my feet. I have an Instagram account, and some other social media like my Blogspot blog, I’ve been able postm from my ipad for a couple of years now, I started all my Social Media on my Smartphone.. I don’t discuss what’s up with me on Social Media, sometimes my post will refer to my spinal injury, but I don’t really know how to word anything, so I only post topics about what gives me some joy and hope, and allow people to believe that might be my life. . But, hopefully , one day I’ll know how to structure my story, accept it, not be overwhelmed by it..
I just wanted to also say, if you read this, that your style of writing is so comprehensive, and you are inspirational. Thank you x
