Reliving the 90’s is the best.

There is a photo of me when I am roughly 4 years old hanging at my parents house – I am wearing a bucket hat with the brim turned up, a floral tank and an over-sized pair of dungarees, which were probably a hand me down from my sister six years my senior. They were the best pair of dungarees ever and because they were a little too big for me, I got to wear them until I was at least five. There is still a little part of that young girl in me – the playful, relaxed and carefree nature who likes to have fun with fashion and not abide by what is on-trend, but what my personality is feeling in that present moment.

I am all for the monochrome, structured silhouettes and sharp tailoring, but I am a coast girl from way back so I enjoy wearing looks that are just thrown on with minimum effort. These hibiscus printed overalls by May The Label is one of these outfits – we were wandering down the beach a day or two after our wedding and the light was so nice, JD took some quick shots – it’s the perfect outfit for the South Coast and I could not have been more relaxed if I tried.

I love revived trends and one like this has so much nostalgia attached – I am just glad that 2014 means skinny, tapered and shorts versions instead of the unflattering pairs we all rocked in the 90’s. No one needs to live through that again. AMIRITE?

Here’s how some other ladies are rocking theirs! Stripes are definitely a favourite!
