You know you’re on holidays when you’re greeted by men in floral shirts strumming ukuleles. From that moment, I was instantly on Fiji time.

While the age old saying of “the destination doesn’t matter as much as the journey itself’, is so cliche, it reigns true and in a way road trips are a metaphor for life: They’re extraordinary expeditions that don’t always have a clear beginning or ending.
Your lifestyle on holidays may be worlds away from your ordinary life, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still have a loose routine or a loose guide for while you’re away.
San Francisco is such a stunning, creative and vibrant city.
When it comes to New York, there is constantly so much to take in, and you’re never given the chance to really get bored. I love that each neighbourhood has it’s own character and style – you could see factories, colorful row houses, and within a few minutes, you’ll be walking past a crazy-ass mansion.
It was hard not to feel at home when we visited NYC.
There’s something about this time of year in Australia – the balmy days, coupled with the imminent festive season and laid back attitude makes me feel sentimental. If I’ve learned anything over the past few months is that it’s incredibly important to maintain a routine while you travel. Initially the struggle on my end is entirely mental. The mental adjustment to living a lifestyle that doesn’t reflect how you generally live the carefully curated lifestyle you’ve set for yourself.
To be honest this is a hard blog post to begin. I have now been back in Australia for two weeks and looking through / editing images for this post has me wishing I was back in California.
