A post jam-packed with photos – is this where I say I am sorry?
Before I start this blog post, I just want to quickly say I am nominated for the Pedestrain TV Blogster Awards (thanks to you guys!!) and if you’d like to swing a vote, send a vote, scream a vote etc, etc my way I will be eternally grateful! You’re a bunch of legends as I aptly described in my finalist profile over on Pedestrian Tv. Plus there’s a few Harry Potter references, so there’s that too!
This day was full of exploration. We wandered the streets for hours and we uncovered some beautiful spots without even meaning to. We found the Museum district and made our way around a couple in the early morning. I have wanted to step foot into a European Museum for so many years now – I knew it would be an exhilarating experience. In places like Berlin, it is hard to fathom just how old the pieces are in the Museums because we come from such a young country here in Australia! This is why I love traveling – it really puts things into perspective.
After the Museum experience we kept wandering and we soon found ourselves in the Berlin Government section. The Parliament buildings and surrounding buildings were absolutely breathtaking. I could have spent hours looking at each of their unique architecture.
I didn’t know what kind of weather to expect when I was packing for Berlin, so I was pleasantly surprised when it was so hot each day. When I say hot, it was hot by Australian standards – I was in dresses and shorts most days. Any day that the mercury rises above 24 is a good excuse to buy a chocolate ice-cream, right? Especially if they only cost 1 Euro. In hindsight, one wasn’t nearly enough!
If you haven’t already been to Berlin, you really must go. It is a really incredible place. So much to see, do – especially if you are into your history, art and good food like Jonathan and me. My brain is currently overloaded with suggestion for you all, but alas, I am pretty sure you don’t want to read an essay!
